Bek la barre creates France's first "Youth Exchange" project dedicated to street workout - Erasmus + Youth and Sport
Our project ''StreetFit Exchange - Empowering Youth through Street Workout and Inclusivity'' has been officially approved by the Agence Nationale. Submitted in October 2023, it was validated by the National Evaluation Committee on 21 December 2023.
Project reference: 2023-3-FR02-KA152-YOU-000176959.
Objectives of the action
Erasmus+ supports mobility activities for young people for non-formal learning purposes in the form of youth exchanges, with the aim of empowering young people and giving them the means to become active citizens, involving them in the European project and helping them to acquire and develop skills for their lives and future careers. The learning period includes a pre-application planning period, a pre-exchange preparation phase and a post-exchange evaluation and follow-up.
More specifically, this youth exchange aims to :
- encourage intercultural dialogue and learning, and a sense of belonging to Europe
- developing young people's skills and attitudes ;
- strengthening European values,
- eradicating prejudice and stereotypes ;
- to raise awareness of relevant social issues and, in so doing, stimulate involvement in society and active participation.
- to create a synergy of social and sporting action and democratise street workout on a European scale as a means of prevention, inclusion and social success.
The scheme is open to all young people aged between 18 and 30, especially those with fewer opportunities. This exchange will enable young people from 5 different countries to meet up for an educational mobility experience and live together for a period of 8 days (excluding travel).
Each delegation will be made up of 5 people aged between 18 and 30 and a Leader (no age limit). Accommodation and indoor workshops will take place at the Etang-Salé-Les-Bains Holiday Village between 3 June and 10 June 2024.
Youth exchanges enable participants to acquire skills, discover socially relevant subjects/themes, learn about new cultures and lifestyles, mainly through peer learning, reinforce values such as solidarity, democracy, friendship, etc., and develop a sense of belonging.. Each day will be led by the leader of a different delegation according to a schedule drawn up in advance.
The youth exchange learning process is based on non-formal education methods (workshops, exercises, debates, role-playing, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.), with street workout as the main theme. The action will culminate in a ''YOUTHPASS'' (a European instrument for transparency and recognition of skills).
Finally, this will be a unique opportunity for young street workout enthusiasts from Réunion who have never been able to travel, to meet, exchange ideas and even take on international athletes during a competition.
