OUR HISTORY
Since our first gathering in 2014, Bek La Barre has forged a path marked by flagship events, championships and humanitarian missions. From the inauguration of the first Street Workout park on Reunion Island in 2015, to international competitions in South Africa, China, the Netherlands and Riga, our passion for and commitment to Street Workout continue to grow.

Founded in 2014, Bek La Barre was born out of a passion for Street Workout and the desire to bring together a community around this discipline in Réunion.

As part of the international day, Bek La Barre joined the movement in 2014 by organising its first World Pull Up Day. Several World Pull Up Days will be organised in 2015 and 2016.

2015 saw the first Bek La Barre gathering in Le Port, the association's stronghold for several years. This symbolic event laid the foundations for what was to become an adventure in the world of Street Workout on Réunion Island.

2015 marked a major milestone for Street Workout on Réunion with the inauguration of the very first park dedicated to this discipline on the island.

The Bek La Barre association organised the first leg of the Street Workout World Championships on Réunion. The event brought together local and international talent, including Eryc Ortiz, marking a significant milestone for the discipline on the island.

A historic moment for Réunion: for the first time, a Réunionese took part in the Street Workout World Championships, flying the island's colours high on the international stage.

A delegation from Réunion took part in the South African leg of the Street Workout World Championships, marking a significant presence for the island at this international event. Guillaume Chamand took 3rd place, automatically qualifying for the world championships.

The international cooperation project with South Africa had both a humanitarian and educational dimension. At the heart of this exchange: the installation of a Street Workout park in an orphanage in Soweto, offering children a space for physical activity and self-fulfilment. What's more, this mission was an opportunity for young people from Reunion Island to discover South African culture and history, encouraging exchanges and intercultural understanding.

Every year, Bek La Barre proudly takes part in organising a leg of the Street Workout World Championships. This regular involvement is testament to our dedication to promoting the sport locally and strengthening links with the global Street Workout community.

At the Max Freestyle in Paris, two Réunionese athletes, Angelo Merion and Raphael Tacite, stood out by taking 1st and 2nd place respectively in the competition".
