This privacy policy (this "Privacy Policy") is provided to explain the online information practices of Bek La Barre ("Bek La Barre" or "we") and the choices you can make about the way information that directly or indirectly identifies you ("Personal Information") is collected and used on Bek La Barre websites (commonly, the "Site"). We are an association established in France with our principal place of business at 8 rue des Sapotilles 97427, L'Etang Sale, France. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). We use your personal data only in accordance with the following principles and in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.
Please read this policy carefully so that you understand your rights with respect to your Personal Information, and the manner in which we will collect, use and process your Personal Information. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy generally or with any part of it, you should not access the Site. This Privacy Policy is effective as of the effective date set forth above and is subject to change as set forth below under "Changes to Bek La Barre's Privacy Policy".
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The Site's web servers collect information relating to Internet connections when users visit the Site. This information is used to help troubleshoot problems with the Site, including performance and security functions. For certain password-protected areas of the Site, we count the number of application programming interface calls associated with a logged-in user in order to highlight the most active users within the Site. In addition to server logs, the Site also uses the Google Analytics service to help us determine how users access and use the Site by collecting information such as statistical data and telemetry information, including an anonymised version of your IP address. This information is used to create aggregated statistics about the operation and use of the Site, such as when the Site was accessed, the pages from which visitors were redirected to the Site, and other information that helps us understand how the Site is being used and what improvements might be made in the future.
Like many other services, Google Analytics uses internal cookies to track user interactions, as is the case with us, where they are used to collect information about how users use our Site. This information is used to produce reports and to help us improve our Site. The reports reveal website trends without identifying visitors individually. You can disable Google Analytics without affecting the way you visit our Site. To learn more about opting out of being tracked by Google Analytics on every website you use, visit this Google page: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
In general, when you visit the Site, we only incidentally collect information such as your IP address and/or data about your browser or computer device, which then enables us to provide you with access to the Site and relevant content. There are, however, pages where you may need to provide or update additional personal data in order to register, make a payment, modify your profile, contact us, request news and updates or carry out other transactions via the Site.
This Personal Data will include:
- name, address, website address, social media handle, photo, current activities, preferred language and contact details;
- the organisation (including name, website, telephone number and address), areas of activity, languages and location;
- the results of all the questionnaires you agree to answer.
You may also provide us with Personal Information about other people, for example to nominate a Fellow or recommend someone for employment. As part of this process, you will be asked to provide Personal Information, such as name, contact details, location, organisation, areas of business and other related information, about people other than yourself. You agree and confirm that you have sought and obtained consent to share such person's Personal Information with us prior to submitting it.

As it is in our legitimate interest to listen to you and ensure the smooth operation of our products and organisations, we will use your information to: process donations, provide requested information about our organisation, assess job applicants, assess Fellow applicants, update your profile, respond to requests for information or relations with Bek La Barre staff, and process responses to questionnaires you have submitted to us. We will also use the Personal Information we collect to improve the Site and to ensure that the content of the Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and your device; to administer the Site; and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistics and surveys, or to ensure the security of the Site.
With your consent, we will use your Personal Information to send you information that we think is relevant to you, including newsletters and marketing information.
